Regarding your business model, and Gantt markers feature

I'm currently trying out the Svelte version of the Gantt component.
It seems to be of high quality, and it has decent level of configurability, so I am pretty excited about this component!
On your website it is marketed as "Free", "Open Source", "GPL", which is super nice!

In your demos, you show a working example with markers:

But when I try to use this, it does not seem to work.
The TS type for the Gantt component does not seem to contain markers, and no markers are shown on screen when I run the code. I am using @svar-ui/svelte-gantt versions 2.3.0.

In a recent commit, you have moved markers from IConfig into something called IProConfig.

On this forum you have mentioned that markers will be a pro feature.

As far as I can tell, this is not mentioned anywhere in the documentation, or the changeleog, or on the website.

This is kinda confusing.. What is going on here?

I am inclined to draw the following conclusions:
- You are planning to make two versions of this library, a free version and a paid version.
- The paid version is not finished yet, so there is no way to buy it on your website yet.
- Gantt markers are not a free feature, but a paid feature.
Is that correct?

You are absolutely correct in your conclusions. There is indeed a nuance: some of the professional examples we have published in the demo environment are not available to users. This is more of a bug on our part than an intentional design.

We are planning to launch the Pro version of this library later this year. In this version, features like markers, which you mentioned, will be available. We understand that this can be confusing, and we apologize for the misunderstanding.

Good news is that even after Pro version is launched, all features that are currently available under GPL will stay GPL, we do not plan to cut free functionality, we will add new Pro features instead.

That is indeed fairly confusing.

I fully agree with the right to charge money for your work, everyone has to make a living.
I also fully appreciate that a project may not be finished yet, as I am a developer myself.

However, I would definitely recommend to not label the project as "Open Source", "Free", and "GPL".
The recommended terminology for this would be something like "Freemium" and "Open core".
The term "Open source" basically implies that the whole project is open source, not just some parts of it.

It would definitely be good to have some documentation about what features are free vs pro, and what stage the project is in.
As far as I can see, none of this is documented right now, and the only place that this information can be found is right here in this forum post.

We're working on making the PRO edition clearer on our website. Regarding the term "open source," we completely understand your point of view. I’d like to emphasize that the main functionality of SVAR Gantt will remain free and open source. Only more advanced features, typically used in enterprise applications, will be part of the PRO version.
